for ages 12-18

We meet throughout the school year. A parent from each family attends at least 5 of the 11 club meetings each semester which helps to create a great community! Students work on individual speech events in club and at home. Then, they compete in two Saturday tournaments and a half day mini-tournament to develop their public speaking skills. Using the judges' feedback, students continue to work on the same speeches over the whole year, making changes to both the content and presentation. It's an amazing way to learn!

What makes your competitive clubs so special?

Offers individual coaching

Club is much more than a public speaking class. We offer one-on-one coaching before or after club, at our house, or on zoom throughout the whole year including the summer! We meet students right where they are at and help them work on next-level skills to become confident speakers. We aim to help them be able to share their faith in any situation and tackle any public speaking with ease.

Teaches exceptional communication skills

In club, students practice public speaking skills weekly. What may start as awkward and uncomfortable presenting becomes polished speaking. Even our most anxious students become confident speakers who later say people are shocked to hear they were once afraid to speak.

Models accepting corrective criticism

One of the greatest life-skills students learn through competitive speech is how to accept corrective criticism - thoughtfully considering someone's suggestions without feeling attacked.

Weekly club meetings offer plenty of opportunities for students to practice this skill! It's part of our club culture.

Examines worldviews and deepens faith

Answering Apologetics questions helps to create a mental framework for studying the Bible. Biblical information has a place to be categorized and stored! Students often talk about how a sermon or podcast fits with a specific question.

Weekly practice giving speeches helps to prepare students to answer the difficult worldview questions students encounter after high school.

Opportunities for life-long friendships

Club becomes a small group that cares for one another. We rejoice in the celebrations and rally during difficult times. We do "life" together!

Since club members are 12-18 years of age, friendships spread across the years. Club is not just for those who are "good" at speaking. It's for all students. More advanced students encourage beginners to work toward becoming better speakers and help walk those with speech anxiety through tournaments.

Spending whole days working hard and having fun together at tournaments is an experience like no other!

Prepares students for interviewing

We are the only competitive speech clubs in the nation who study interviewing strategies and regularly practice interviewing in competition!

Intense focus on interview skills helps students develop the ability to be more aware of the interviewer, company, and position rather than just the "nervousness" of being interviewed.

Grace, Grit, Gratitude

We are saved by grace and offer grace to others creating a world class community. We embrace grit. We work hard and strive for excellence in competition. We have deep gratitude toward God for the ability to be a community that honors Him.

Kind Words

"Julie helped me go from a shy, timid kid to a bold communicator. Her coaching changed the way I think about public speaking and interacting with others. She knows better than anyone how to draw you out of your comfort zone, yet with compassion and kindness. She was always my biggest cheerleader and I am so thankful for the skills she taught me and the support she gave me. Communication is at the heart of connecting with those around us. And Ms. Julie gets to the heart."

"Do you need a fun, energetic, sincere and encouraging speech coach for your child/student?   I highly recommend Julie Fritz as your child’s personal speech coach!  I’ve had the opportunity to not only coach beside Julie, which was always a learning experience and so helpful, but my daughter excelled in speech with Julie’s encouragement & coaching.

Julie knows how to work with young speech students, as well as high school speech students.  She is able to share honestly, but in a loving way to encourage her students to have confidence, to keep practicing, and to enjoy the whole experience!

From Julie’s fun camps to competing in tournaments, Julie loves to be a cheerleader for her students!"

Rachel C, mom

"Ms. Julie is incredible, and she had a huge impact on me throughout my junior high and high school years. Before she coached me, I was very shy and had a difficult time getting out of my comfort zone, speaking confidently, and conveying emotions in front of others. She helped me overcome my fear of speaking, and now people are surprised to find out that I was ever shy or unable to speak on stage.

Ms. Julie cares deeply about everyone she coaches. She is able to see the unique gifts and talents of her students and give them the tools and encouragement they need to shine. I am so grateful for her!"
